FarmHouse Fresh is rolling out new products, including new anti-aging SKUs, that marry performance and southern flair.

Farming is a seasonal business, even for FarmHouse Fresh. This Frisco, TX-based beauty company puts a seasonal spin on many of its launches, according to Shannon McLinden, CEO. “At FarmHouse Fresh, we craft products that truly embrace each season,” she told Happi, revealing some new SKUs for spring: Sweet Tea body polish and Three Milk Ageless Daily Moisturizer. McLinden says FarmHouse Fresh is taking the South’s love for sweet tea literally in the new body scrub. She described it as a “dream to shower with because it whips up into a rich lather as you’re enveloped by notes of white tea, peach and ginger.” For the latter launch, the story centers on another farm staple: milk. And while this new SKU fits well with the company’s love for food ingredients and themes, it has a more clinical slant with performance-driven ingredients. “Our Three Milk Ageless Moisturizer fulfills a long-awaited request from our customers for a rich daily moisturizer,” McLinden said. “We wanted to provide a hydrating formula that would multi-task and make both a daily and long-term difference in the appearance of skin. We worked through a number of formulas using combinations of firming peptides and quickly narrowed in on a blend that includes three botanical milks that soothe skin including coconut milk, milk vetch and milk thistle, plus palmitoyl oligopeptide and palmitoyl tetrapeptide-7, to provide a clinically-tested reduction in the appearance of wrinkle depth.” Milk vetch is known for its antibacterial properties while milk thistle contains silymarin, an antioxidant that has shown to significantly improve skin redness, papules, itching and hydration. The peptides help reduce the look of deep wrinkle surface area by up to 45% after two months of use, according to the company. The moisturizer, which comes in 3.4oz glass bottle and decorative box ($45), is one of six items in FarmHouse Fresh’s new Ageless collection of skin care products that are rolling out this year. The range will include serum formulations, including Crow Catcher, which is designed for the eye area. Crow Catcher contains bio peptide which increases skin’s moisture content, seaweed extract, ascophyllum nodosum and cyantophyta-class algae extracts, caprylic triglyceride and organic gotu kola, an extract of centella asiatica which is known for its antibacterial, anti-psoriatic and wound-healing properties. The 98%-natural formula is vegan and free of gluten, parabens, sulfates and mineral oil; it is to be applied twice daily after cleansing. Things have been going well down on the farm, according to McLinden, although she remained close to the vest on revenues generated by the company, which was founded in 2005. “2013 was another stellar year,” she said. “Our brand had its eighth consecutive year of strong growth. We’ve found our sweet spot so to speak with our delicious scents and as a team we’ve found that we excel most at bringing to life our own personal love of farm fresh foods, desserts and drinks.” FarmHouse Fresh is resonating in the spa sector. Recently, the brand was named a top-five favorite body care line in an annual vote administered by American Spa magazine—again. “This is our second year achieving this title and it means more to us in the second year than the first because we work with boundless enthusiasm at crafting products our customers, and their customers, will crave for years to come,” McLinden said. FarmHouse Fresh is now carried in more than 2,000 locations, including The Hotel Hershey and Disney, noted McLinden. While the company is clearly looking beyond the farm for great ingredients (such as the Arizona red montmorillonite clay in its new Sand Your Ground clarifying mud exfoliating mask), FarmHouse has products in the pipeline with its own brand of Southern flair. “We are introducing an organic line in late spring that is very true to our southern epicurean roots,” said McLinden. “It includes body butters, lotion, after-shower oil, exfoliators and serums that are rich with textures and scents to make you swoon.”
